Daniella (she/her/hers) has been fortunate enough to have transatlantic casting experience between London and NYC, and currently resides in London with her husband and mini-schnauzer, Mister Darcy.
She most recently worked alongside Pat McCorkle, CSA and Rebecca Weiss, CSA as an assistant at McCorkle Casting for 18 months, gaining the invaluable insight of one of the industry's leading professionals from a career that spans more than 40 years. She also has had the opportunity to intern with some of the city’s top casting directors and agencies such as Tara Rubin, Jim Carnahan, Roundabout Theatre Co. and the Stewart Talent Agency.
While in London, she had the pleasure of assisting CDG member, Jane Deitch, in the auditions for Night of the Living Dead, Live! as well as connecting with the company, Les Enfants Terribles, to help cast their show at Kensington Palace, United Queendom.
With her casting and talent scouting knowledge, Daniella Newton is driven by the very notion that bringing the right people together can truly make or break a production. She is continuously inspired by the moments when talent brings a creative vision to life.
Specifically, she wishes to collaborate with others who are at the forefront of challenging social disparities and confronting the evolving expectation of authentic casting practices. Having had the opportunity to collaborate alongside an international cohort of artists whilst in London, she found her worldview expanding and being elevated to the task of taking ownership for what we can do as creatives in seeking further inclusivity in our shows and studio teams. She wishes to advocate for these voices and raise celebrations over these cultures that she has come to know. Seeing these stories represented on an equitable platform would be both personally edifying and culturally significant. She strives to be a part of the growing casting community that seeks to bridge these gaps with solutions and strives to uphold such distinguished casting standards.
